Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by DSW Specialised Courier Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By requesting or using our courier services, the customer ("you", "your") agrees to be bound by these terms.
1. Services
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd provides dedicated same-day, urgent, and time-critical courier services across the United Kingdom.
Our services may include the transportation of:
• Business documents
• Legal files
• Engineering components
• Laboratory materials
• Business consignments and equipment
All deliveries are undertaken as direct point-to-point courier services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Quotes & Pricing
All prices provided are quotations based on the information supplied at the time of enquiry.
Pricing may vary depending on:
• Distance and location
• Urgency of delivery
• Vehicle type required
• Waiting time
• Load size or special handling requirements
Minimum charges may apply for short-distance or local deliveries.
Additional charges may apply for:
• Waiting time
• Out-of-hours services
• Multiple delivery points
• Changes to delivery instructions after booking
Quotes are confirmed only once a booking is accepted by DSW Specialised Courier Ltd.
3. Booking & Acceptance
A booking is considered confirmed once it has been agreed verbally, by email, or through written confirmation.
The customer must ensure that all booking details are accurate, including:
• Collection and delivery addresses
• Contact details
• Description of items being transported
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd reserves the right to refuse any job where the contents are unsafe, unlawful, or outside the agreed scope of service.
4. Collection & Delivery
Customers must ensure consignments are correctly packaged and ready for collection.
Collection and delivery times are estimates unless otherwise agreed in writing.
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd shall not be held responsible for delays caused by:
• Traffic conditions
• Weather conditions
• Road closures or access restrictions
• Incorrect information provided by the customer
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Proof of delivery may be provided by:
• Signature confirmation
• Photographic evidence
• Electronic timestamp or delivery record
5. Waiting Time
A short grace period may be allowed during collection or delivery.
Additional waiting time may be charged where delays occur due to:
• Customer delays
• Collection site delays
• Recipient availability issues
6. Cancellations
Bookings cancelled after dispatch may be subject to a cancellation charge.
Where a job is cancelled after collection has taken place, the full delivery charge may still apply.
7. Insurance & Liability
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd maintains Goods in Transit insurance up to £50,000 per consignment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Public Liability insurance is maintained up to £5,000,000. (higher limits on request)
Customers must declare the value of consignments at the time of booking.
Liability is limited to the declared value of the goods or the applicable insurance limit, whichever is lower.
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses including:
• Loss of profit
• Business interruption
• Loss of business opportunity
8. Packaging Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring items are packaged appropriately for safe transport.
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd is not liable for damage caused by inadequate or unsuitable packaging.
9. Prohibited Items
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd does not transport:
• Illegal goods or prohibited materials
• Explosives or firearms
• Hazardous chemicals or dangerous substances unless agreed in advance
• Controlled drugs or restricted medical substances without appropriate documentation
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all consignments comply with applicable laws and regulations.
10. Payment Terms
Payment may be required prior to or at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Business customers may be invoiced on agreed terms, typically 7 or 14 days.
Late payments may result in:
• Additional charges
• Suspension of services
• Recovery action where necessary
11. Confidentiality
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd handles all consignments with discretion and professionalism.
This includes sensitive deliveries such as:
• Legal documents
• Medical materials
• Confidential business items
We take reasonable steps to maintain confidentiality but cannot be held responsible for issues arising from incorrect packaging or disclosure by third parties.
12. Data Protection
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR regulations.
Information is used solely for the purpose of providing courier services and managing business operations.
13. Force Majeure
DSW Specialised Courier Ltd shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services where such failure is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
This may include:
• Severe weather
• Road incidents
• Vehicle breakdown
• Government restrictions or emergency events
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
